Product Overview
The Fruit of the Loom Kids 65/35 Pique Polo is a cornerstone of our junior workwear and education range. Engineered specifically for the rigours of school life, sports clubs, and youth events, this polo shirt balances comfort with impressive resilience. The choice of a polycotton blend ensures the garment maintains its shape and colour through the repetitive laundering cycles that children’s clothing inevitably faces. With a clean, professional appearance and a reliable fit, it serves as the perfect canvas for your organisation's branding.
Key Features
- High-Temperature Performance: Capable of performing at a 60°C wash, which is essential for effectively removing stubborn stains and maintaining hygiene in school and sports environments.
- Reinforced Construction: Features twin needle stitching on the shoulders and hem, providing additional strength to the seams and ensuring the garment withstands active movement.
- Enhanced Comfort: A taped back neck seam covers the raw edges of the fabric, preventing the irritation and scratching that can often bother younger wearers.
- Classic Detailing: The two-button placket with self-coloured buttons and a ribbed flat knit collar provides a smart, uniform look that remains tidy throughout the day.
Design & Performance
The fabric is a sophisticated 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend, carefully selected to offer the best of both worlds. The polyester provides necessary durability and crease resistance, while the cotton ensures the fabric remains breathable and soft against the skin. This medium-weight pique knit is substantial enough to feel premium without being restrictive during physical activity.
The inclusion of ribbed cuffs and a flat knit collar helps the garment retain its structure, preventing the 'rolling' often seen in lower-quality alternatives. Every detail, from the sewn-in spare button to the precise stitching, is designed to provide a garment that looks as good at the end of the term as it did at the start.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This polo shirt is excellently suited for both print and embroidery, and we carry out all customisation in-house at our Telford facility. For a truly professional and long-lasting finish, we recommend embroidery for school crests or club logos. The dense pique knit provides a stable base for high-definition stitching that won't pull the fabric.
If you require large, bold graphics for a one-off event or a summer camp, our printing process offers vibrant results that stand out. Our team, drawing on expertise dating back to 1976, will ensure your branding is applied with precision, maintaining the professional standard your organisation deserves.
Use Cases
This garment is the primary choice for school uniforms, providing a consistent look across all age groups from 3 to 15. It is equally effective for junior sports teams, local community clubs, or as part of a staff uniform for youth-focused organisations and event staff.

Practical Advice
The size range is comprehensive, covering ages 3/4 up to 14/15. For school children who may be layering this under a sweatshirt or jumper, the breathable polycotton blend is ideal as it prevents overheating. We recommend reviewing our size guide to ensure the best fit, as children's sizing can vary significantly between brands.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and appearance of this polo, we recommend a machine wash at 40°C. While the garment is rated for higher temperatures, a standard 40°C wash is generally sufficient for regular cleaning and is gentler on any custom embroidery or print, ensuring the colours remain vibrant.
Bleaching agents should be strictly avoided. Chlorine-based bleaches will weaken the polyester fibres over time and cause significant fading to both the garment and your custom logo.
We advise against tumble drying. High heat can cause the fabric to shrink slightly and may damage the adhesive bond of printed designs. Instead, air drying is the best way to preserve the garment's shape.
When ironing, use a low heat setting (one dot). High heat can melt the synthetic polyester fibres and damage any customisation. Finally, avoid dry cleaning, as the harsh chemicals are unnecessary for this fabric blend and can degrade the quality of the finish.
